Happy New Year - 2018

Published: 07/02/2018

Wow, what an amazing summer here in NZ! We hope you've been enjoying it and wish you an excellent 2018 with many challenges, adventures and no website outages.

Here at Pureflow we're getting back in the saddle and starting to work towards the release of our new Management Panel and getting to work on our new features roadmap. Let us know if there is anything you need urgently.

New Management Panel Under Construction

Published: 03/11/2017

The last few weeks we have been rebuilding our admin panel, moving to an API driven architecture with a React javascript front end. We hope to make rolling out new features faster and smoother and make the panel work beautifully across all browser platforms and devices. If you'd like to be in on the Beta and use it as it evolves let us know :-)

System Outages - 31st Oct 2017

Published: 31/10/2017

We've experienced some system outages today as our load balancer insisted on re-building itself and assumed a fresh IP address, due to a bug now squashed. Sites across Pureflow were down for up to 3 hours :-( This was our largest outage since Pureflow started and the real tragedy is Lloyd's fancy apple watch didn't alert him, we're looking at investing in the one with electric shock notifications.

We have updated our monitoring to catch this type of failure. We don't think this will be a recurrent issue.

Apologies, and if anybody is experiencing issues please contact us directly.

Pureflow - The Next Step

Published: 09/10/2017

For over a year now we have been busy building and tuning the backend hosting platform that underpins Pureflow. It's now running like a finely tuned machine and we have been starting to think about how we take the next step and find more customers and fund the next layer of features we'd like to build.

Hosting websites is a highly competitive and mature market, and connecting with the right people is difficult. For us to get our message out we are seeking to team up with somebody who revels in this sort of challenge.

Our targets are realistic and we would prefer a long term relationship where the right person earned equity in Pureflow for their initial work and became an integral part of the team.

If you know of anybody or have done this sort of thing before and have some advice for us, let us know!

New Pricing, Simpler! Cheaper!

Published: 24/07/2017

We went back to the drawing board and have flattened out the billing system. From now on you get charged a small daily fee which includes 0.5GB of disk space and 1GB of traffic per month. If you exceed these we charge a small $1.0/GB/m for disk and $0.34/GB for traffic (all prices NZD ex GST).

Why? Well this way we can make all the features included. SSL, site checks and backups, they are all included. As we come up with more cool stuff we'll tack it on. Having a user-pays system like this ensures we can give you the reliability and performance that you require. This isn't a limited shared hosting account where you get penalised when you grow. Oh no - this here, it's a rocket ship.

Will you pay more? No, we've set it up so nobody pays more than they used to. In some cases it is a lot less.

Redirects, Aliases and Graphs live

Published: 15/06/2017

We've just put our latest additions to the admin panel live with a number of new features including:

  • Redirects - you can add redirects to your site, useful for SEO when you have old URLs you would like to point to existing ones
  • Aliases - If you have other domains you need to resolve to your primary site domain i.e. you may have domain.nz you need to point to domain.co.nz
  • Disk and Traffic graphs - These are part of our work towards a new pricing model and show Disk and Traffic usage for each site
  • Site migration - This beta feature lets you import a Wordpress site's assets from an URL, part of our work towards making it as easy as possible for people with many sites to migrate them over to Pureflow

SSH Keys and Domain Aliases now live in the admin panel

Published: 15/05/2017

We've just put live a couple of much requested features in your control panel:

  • You can now add SSH Public Keys for your user account which allow SSH and sFTP access
  • You can now add Domain Aliases for any site, these are typically used where you have other domains (i.e. domain.nz) you'd like to resolve to the main domain (i.e. domain.co.nz) for a site

Next up is custom redirects!
